Last-Mile Delivery Costs Rise Again as Courier Operators Face Growing Pressure

New 2026 industry research shows that last-mile delivery costs have increased by about 12% for a second consecutive year in the U.S.

The increase is being linked to operating expenses and the difficulty of creating greater efficiency as delivery networks expand.

For customers: Higher delivery costs can eventually translate into increased shipping fees, surcharges or changes to delivery options.
